Description
8 X 10. Dense, tangled underbrush, mostly sumac and mullein, bordering a small tributary of the Mohawk River in Central NY, early in the spring. This is a work-in-progress, although it's very close to being finished. This one was an experiment in texture, using, besides a paintbrush, a palette knife and the sharpened wooden end of a paintbrush to apply paint that had been thickened with a gel medium in an attempt to capture the thick and tangled feel of walking through thick underbrush.
