Description
This image is a record of a work-in-progress stage in the evolution of my Wood Creek Shadows and Reflections painting, also found on this site - with a twist. I took the painting outside to photograph it, before it was finished (thinking it was finished), and didn't notice that my photograph had captured a couple of flies that were hovering just to the right of the lower right corner of the cloud reflection area (white area). They look like march flies (Bibionidae) to me, which are attracted to flowers in the spring. Maybe they thought the white area was some kind of large flower. If you look carefully at that area of the painting you can see them hovering there. So this image is unique in that it's a sort of human/insect art collaboration.
After bringing the painting back inside and looking at it some more, I realized it wasn't finished yet, so I dug out my pastels and completed it without the assistance of any insects. But I like the insect-collaboration one, anyway.
The original isn't for sale, for the simple reason that it doesn't actually exist. This image is a conglomerate of the original of my painting, Wood Creek: Shadows and Reflections, in an unfinished state, with a couple of flies that snuck in a little photo-op opportunity.
